FEATURED PLACES

Alnwick Garden
It has become a contemporary pleasure garden, which brings joy to millions. When I see photographs of it in darkness I feel that I am watching it sleep, resting in preparation for the people it has to entertain the following day.
When visitors to The Alnwick Garden step through the 16th century Venetian gates, they are wowed. Wowed by the space, the structure and the beauty of the landscape laid out before them. It is a view that’s appreciated every day, in every season
Go Ape
Peebles
Just one hour away from Edinburgh, Glentress, located near Peebles, offers superb walking, mountain biking, tree-top fun and magnificent views of the beautiful Tweed Valley for the whole day out. Built on the hillside within beautiful Glentress Forest, Go Ape Peebles makes good use of the valley for some jaw-dropping exposure, and features our highest zip wire over the reservoirs.
Leadhills & Wanlockhead
Railway
Leadhills is the home for Britain's highest narrow gauge adhesion railway, reaching 1,498 feet above sea level.
The journey takes you from the station at Leadhills to the terminus at Glengonnar halt before returning back to the station. The train runs past the disused Glengonnar Mine, where minerals were first excavated in the 1450's.
